TIME: 70 minutes (2 periods)
LANGUAGE CONTENT: Sequence Connector, Modal Verbs
AIMS & OBJECTIVE:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to practice their writing skills by using the information from the website and present the information in a paragraph form using sequence connector.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• One computer per group of 2 or 3 students
• Internet connection
• Web Browser
PREPARATION:
1. Locate a video clip from YouTube and Surviving Test Game website.
2. Browse through the website to make sure it is suitable for the students and match the topic.
3. Prepare worksheet based on the information in the website.

PROCEDURE:
Set induction: (5 minutes)
1. Teacher makes an ice breaking session for the lesson by asking questions about what they will do in certain critical situation.
2. Teacher introduces the topic of the day.
3.Teacher recaps the previous lesson on Sequence Connector and Modal Verbs.
Task 1: (30 minutes):
1. Teacher asks the students to form a group of 2 to 3 per computer.
2. Teacher instructs the students to open the following website:
3. Teacher asks students to watch the video clip.
4. Teacher asks students what they understand about the video clip.
5. Teacher asks students to complete Task 1 in a worksheet based on the video clip that they watch.
6. Teacher guides the students in completing the activity and discusses the answers.
Task 2: (30 minutes):
1. Teacher instructs students to open the following website:
2. Teacher explains to the students on how to answer the Survival Test.
3. Teacher allocates 10 minutes for students to complete the Survival Test
4. Teacher guides the students in completing the activity.
5. Teacher asks students to share their results from the test
6. Teacher asks students to do task 2 in the worksheet
Follow-up activity (5 minutes):
Teacher asks students to recap the lesson and asks them to send Task 2 exercise via e-mail to za8muska@yahoo.com

steel wool? woh hoh! where can I get that? can I still make fire if the battery is flat? what can I use to replace the white thingy? oh.. teacher.. don't be made at me for I've only ask three questions. nice video. I want to try it later but where can I get steel wool..

Oh,Task 2 is interesting too! I've learnt a lot but I doubt the answer for number 7. huhu. I've watched about it in Astro, Mythbuster. Nway, maybe you can award the student who got the best answers! Just a title "THE ULTIMATE SURVIVOR" would make one happy

p/s: to pija, u can replace the white thingy (solid fuel) with tissue, cotton or coconut pulp (sabut kelapa). Btw, u can get the steel wool for less than RM2 at the mini-market near u
